Re: Connect - Seeing Past Your Filters (Sermon)

 Re: Connect

Re: Connect - Seeing Past Your Filters

Where is it Written?

Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 - ideally in several translations.

What worldly "filters" affect how we see others? (Make a list.)

How does God see people differently?

Who and what makes people "new?"

Is the offer of "new life" extended to everyone?

How Goes Your Walk?

How does Jesus cause you to see yourself differently?

How does Jesus cause you to see others differently?

What do you think could happen if more people saw one another in this way?

Re: Connect - Friendship With God

Where is it Written?

Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 - ideally in several translations.

What do you notice in this passage?

How have we been reconciled/ made right/ reconnected with God?

What difference does our reconciliation with God make? (See verse 17)

What ministry have we been given as a result?

How Goes Your Walk?

What does it mean to you personally that you have been reconciled with God? How does it affect your thought life/ emotional life?

How does your reconciliation with God affect your relationships with others?

Where are you most wanting to grow in reconciliation?

Keeping Hope Alive (Sermon)

Keeping Hope Alive

Discuss:

As a result of the past year, where have you personally found hope a struggle? Where have you been tempted to become cynical?

Romans 5: 3-4 tells us we can rejoice in our sufferings. Why? Share an experience where you were able to go through the process Paul describes there.

What most often keeps you from experiencing the kind of hope Paul had?

He Is Risen (Sermon)

Celebrating Easter.

He Is Risen

Digging Into the Word:

Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-8.

How many people in total were eyewitnesses to Jesus' resurrection?

How were those eyewitnesses changed by what they saw?

Why is the resurrection so important to the Christian faith?

Other Key Bible Passages About the Resurrection:

Matthew 28, Luke 24, and John 20-21.

Applying The Word to Our Lives:

Does the evidence we find in the Bible for the resurrection convince you it REALLY happened? Why or why not?

How has Jesus' resurrection affected you?

What your next step for growing in your faith?
