Where is it written?
Read Ephesians 6:10-20
Whose power are we to rely on? (vs. 10)
Who is our true enemy? (vs. 11-12)
Is
a struggle against evil an optional part or an integral part of
Christan life? Why is it important that we know about spiritual warfare?
What
do the belt, the breastplate, the shoes, the shield, the helmet each
represent? How does each help us stand our ground against evil? (Make a list.)
What does the sword represent? How does it help us advance against evil?
What does the full armor of God equip us to do? (vs. 18-20)
Who are we to pray for? What are we to pray for?
Deep Study - SpiritualWarfare
Read
John 8;44, John 10:10, John 16:33, Romans 8:37-39, 1 Corinthians 10:13,
2 Corinthians 10:4-5, 2 Corinthians 11:14, Colossians 1:13-14, 2
Thessalonians 3:3, James 4:7, and 1 Peter 5:8-9.
The
word “Satan” means “adversary.” What do these passages teach us about
the spiritual battles that surround us, and how our enemy can be
defeated?
How might you summarize spiritual warfare for a young Christian who is just learning about it?
How goes your walk?
Where are you feeling the spiritual struggle in your life?
How does knowing the reality of spiritual warfare affect how you pray and what you pray for?
How are you putting on the full armor of God daily?
How might your life be different if you were most consistently applying the full armor of God in your life?
Challenge:
Take
5 minutes every day this week to pray through the armor of God, asking
God to 1) ground you in His truth, 2) cover you in His righteousness, 3)
ready you to share His message, 4) guard you against the devil’s
accusations, 5) remind you of your salvation in Him. Then apply what you
know of God’s Word to pray boldly for God’s will to be done in this
world.
